My Conrad Singapore Staycation

Woof Woof peeps,

i have so many throwbacks to blog about and i do not know where to start from, after going through the thousand over photos i have in my computer, i have decided to first blog about my Conrad Staycation.

Many dogs staying in bigger countries may have the luxury of going on road trips with their Human parents, travelling between states to have short trips, however for the poor me living in small Singapore, i guess the furthest i can travel between 'states' is from Jurong to Pasir Ris. Booooozzzz...

So one day in May, Momma told me excitedly that she is surprising Dad with a 3D2N Hotel Staycation on 31st May, i was wondering why is she telling me since Hotels in Singapore does not allow big dogs like me. Ahem, Big i mean big bone structure, IM NOT FAT. I was feeling kinda confused as i do not want to be left alone at home while my Momma and Dardy enjoy their staycation. I nearly flipped when Momma continued, by telling me that they are bringing me along.! HOORAY! I have never been any happier in the last 1 day!

Just as i was wondering if i was being lied to, i did my own research and found out that Conrad Singapore does allow dogs, up to 34kg! My human parents only have to pay a $88++ cleaning fee. There will be Dog Amenities provided too (i wonder if i can write in to request for my favourite toys *grin*) . but YAY! Big dogs like me finally have some place to go on holidays within Singapore.

I woke up real early on 31st May to pack my bags for my stay, i packed my food rations for 3 days, few of my favourite toys and of cos not forgetting my pee tray, i have to bring my pee tray wherever i go so that i can pee as and when i want to. After packing, i ran into the room to wake my human parents up...

Its my virgin trip to a hotel, i must look my best of cos, even though i already look my best everyday.

After my weekly bath, i patiently let my Dardy blow me dry. Cant wait to go for my hotel stay!
When im totally dry up, Momma check our bags to ensure we did not miss out anything and off we go to Conrad Singapore.

Me at the Hotel Lobby
Checking out the beautiful Chandelier in the lobby
 After the procedures for checking in is done, we are escorted by a friendly hotel staff to our room, i remained calm when the staff is explaining to Momma some things about the fruits being sent up later on. Once he step out of our room, i became my usual crazy self! I M UNABLE TO CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT!

checking out the whole room

The view is beautiful as our room is on the high floor

Pee first, explore later

nice painting in the room

the bath amenities looks good, but it will not make me wanna take a 2nd bath this week

oh, and Conrad is so nice to provide me with 2 apples for tea, and a Conrad Bear to add to my toys collection. i shall skip the green apple though.

Since we are not going out yet, shall continue sniffing around the room
Are we going out soon? im bored

Shall chew on my Nylabone to idle some time away

After i get bored from chewing on my Nylabone, i decided to check out the bed, i wonder if its fluffy enough for me.

After making sure the bed is soft enough, i waited at the room door for my Parents to take me out.
After laying at the door for a good 10 min, i heard the doorbell, being the obedient me, i did not bark at the door, i waited patiently to see whose there while my Momma open the door...

Its the housekeeping lady bringing me my Pets Amenities. :P

There's even a cute door sign letting people know im in the room.

Gonna hang the door sign up myself!

After hanging up the doorsign informing people im in the room, my parents decided its time to bring me out to explore! HIP HIP HOORAY! I heard them mentioning about going to Gardens By the Bay. I wonder if its something edible.

Me and Dardy at the walkway beside our hotel
Well Well, before my exploration trip to Gardens by the Bay, i have to clear my bowels first to make space in my tummy in case there's nice food to eat there.
Looking for a nice spot to Poo Poo outside Millenia Tower

 After Pooping outside Momma's previous office building (Millenia Tower), we continued our way to Gardens by the Bay.

Dardy and me at the flyover towards MBS

This is me posing with a nice ride (PS: i dare not lay too close in case the engine startle me)

Arrived at Gardens by the Bay after a good 20 minutes walk. Momma was saying the walk could be faster but i cant help it and had to stop to sniff around everywhere. After all it is my first time here!
Notice the big Ferris Wheel behind us?

I was pretty disappointed when Momma said that we have arrived at Gardens by the Bay, its just metal flowers all around and i am not allowed into the flower dome. BOOOO!

Beautiful Singapore Flyer, Momma says it offers beautiful views on it as it overlooks the Malaysian Straits. Me not allowed on it as usual. double BOOOOO!

After exploring a bit at Gardens by the Bay, its time for me to take a rest otherwise i will not have the energy to continue the walk! Took a short break at the many benches around the vicinity and had a drink of water. Wish i have a beer in this hot weather. (There's doggie beer out there, NO?)

After resting, we continued our way, this time heading to the Helix Bridge.
* The Helix Bridge is a pedestrian bridge linking Marina Centre with Marina South in the Marina Bay area.

Skateboarding looks like fun, i should try it someday.

After a short walk, i saw a Lotus lookalike. ITS HUMONGOUS! i wonder how it tastes like.
Momma told me that this is the ArtScience Musuem, every now and then, there will be different exhibitions held there... again, IM NOT ALLOWED IN, TRIPLE BOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Its ok, i shall just snap some pics outside it so that i can boast to my doggy pals that i have been there!

After some phototaking outside the ArtsScience Musuem, Dardy wanted to take a photo with the Sundown Marathon signage. Sundown marathon is a night time marathon held yearly and Dardy used to join. its a freaking 42.195km! i guess i will just lay down on the track after the first 0.195km. hiak hiak. While we are in front of the signage, a little girl came to disturb me. She ran around me screaming and i was startled so i began jumping around. Dardy and Momma quickly pulled me away to prevent me from scaring the little girl. In the end, Dardy didnt manage to snap a photo with the Signage. :(

We proceed to go up the stairs onto Helix Bridge, along the way many foreigners ask to pet me. i am so proud of myself that so many others like me! :D well, how can they not love me since im such a pretty cutie.

After crossing the Helix Bridge, we headed back to the hotel as it was my dinner time. Dardy and Momma gonna grab a bite too.

In the hotel lift

Family Portrait in the lift lobby
 We were welcome back into our room with turndown service and a surprise birthday cake for Dardy.

Its Dardy's 29th birthday

Dardy blew off the candle and i waited patiently for Momma to give me a piece of the birthday cake.

To my dismay, Momma finished the whole cake herself! HOW SELFISH!

In order to show my unhappiness about her not sharing Dardy's birthday cake, i shall follow her around to annoy her.

Peep at Momma while she's bathing.

Peep at Momma while she's doing her business.

Peep at Momma while she's watching TV

No cake? really no cake for me?!
How about some seaweed instead? This time round, Dardy finished the whole pack of seaweed without leaving anything for me. OK, i conclude that i have selfish parents! Anyone knows the hotline to complain about child neglect?!

Forget it, i shall sleep and forget about it.

The next morning, i woke up early and wish Dardy a Happy Birthday. We had our breakfast together in the room and off we go to explore again! Momma says they are bringing me to Merlion Park and the river Promenade! yippee!

Why is the lift taking so long?!
When we are downstairs, Momma says she's gonna go get some croissants and pies...
Staring at her outside The Terrace Cafe to make sure she remembers me and get me some delicious pies too!

It was drizzling when we head out, but it doesnt deter me from wanting to explore the area, however after a short walk, the concrete path is too hot for me to continue. i refused to walk any further and Dardy suggested going back to the hotel and coming out again in the evening instead.

We had lunch at Ruby Thai Restaurant at Millenia Walk before going back up to our room.

Yes, that's me looking very grumpy as my parents did not order me any Thai Dog Food.
Now, WHATS THE HOTLINE FOR CHILD NEGLECT AGAIN?

Napping with Momma
 Was supposed to be going out to Merlion Park in the evening when the floor is cool, however it began raining heavily in the afternoon and did not stop til late at night. So, i spent the whole 2nd day of my staycation in the hotel room disturbing Dardy & Momma.

 And watching TV the whole day.

 *****
On the 3rd day, i woke up early to have Breakfast, Momma packed our stuffs and home we go.
I Had lots of fun during my 3D2N stay at Conrad, despite it was raining the 2nd day, resulting in us staying in the room the whole day, but i still had tons of fun disturbing my parents. I Hope Momma book us another staycation soon!

*****

To my fellow doggie pals, few things to take note of if your parents intend to book a staycation for you.

1) After booking the room, remember to get your parents to email the hotel with the booking reference so that the hotel can prepare the dog amenities.
2) If you are not paper train, do not panic when you accidentally pee on the carpet in the room, just use tissue papers to press on the carpet to let it absorb.
3) Remember to pack sufficient food for the stay and some toys as well.

Few places that we can get our parents to bring us to during our stay.

* Gardens by the Bay
* Merlion Park
* Marina Baraage
* River Promenade
* Suntec City Fountain of wealth
* Singapore Flyer area

For meals, as the hotel does not allow us to be in the room without our parents, it might be difficult to locate places to eat for our parents. Fret not, as the stretch of restaurants at Millenia Tower facing Conrad has outdoor sittings, most of them allow pets to be there, just have to ask beforehand to double confirm.

Within Conrad, they are a pet friendly hotel so they allow us to be everywhere. except for the breakfast area.
