My First Trophy

Woof peeps...

it has been a while since i last updated my blog... 

Just like how i spend my everyday, i have been having fun, and with 3 visits to the Vet the last 2 weeks. will share more about my vet visits soon.

Meanwhile, last Saturday, Momma brought me to the Singapore Discover Dogs Event at Expo.

Remember my last post about me having the Lion Mane? Momma ordered it specially for this event.

I woke up real early on a Sat morning as the event starts at 8am and the competition that Momma signed me up for starts at 12 noon. We are supposed to reach expo before 1130am so that i have enough time to register for the competition. However, Momma being the lazy bones, she woke up late and it was a mad rush. Luckily we managed to reach there on time. Grandma and Ah Zhu is meeting us there too. :D

Once we reach Singapore Expo Hall 7, Grandma and Ah Zhu already collected the tickets on Momma behalf and waiting for us there. Getting down the car, i can sniff hundreds of different dogs. I went crazy and kept pulling the leash hoping to get into the hall as soon as possible. After Dardy parked his car, he joined us and we proceeded to the entrance.

Inside the Hall, i couldn't contain my excitement and i hate it that i have the leash on me which stops me from running around freely. Beh!

The event hall is HUGE! with different areas cordoned off for different competitions. There's also quite a number of stalls that sells treats, toys and some stalls for raising awareness in helping the strays. Even though with so many things to look at, i was distracted by the scent of the treats and other dogs.

We walked one round around the event hall and proceeded to the Companion Dog Area to wait for my costume competiton to start.

This is my Get Up for the costume competition, nothing fancy as it is quite difficult to get apparels for Big Dogs like me. So all i have is the Lion Mane hairband. I felt that it is good enough. Don't i look like a real lion?

Beh! OF COS I DO! IM A LION TRYING TO BE A GOLDEN RETRIEVER!

After registration, Momma was given a number tag for easy recognition.
Only one handler is allowed into the competition area, so Dardy accompanied me in while Momma took photos outside.

When the competition starts, we have to parade around the area for 2 rounds, before moving up one by one to the judge for some Q&A and letting the judge check the costumes.

Got a bit impatient after a good 5 min and Dardy have to keep me focus with treats. heh!

While waiting for my turn, i made friends with the other doggies participating in the competition.
There's a surfer babe, rocker, princesses and A TIGER! how cool is that. heh

After letting the judges see us upfront, we have to walk one more round around the competition area.

My photos should be everywhere now because there's so many people taking photos of the lion me and some even asked for permission to take with me. :)

After the results is announced, i didnt win of cos because the other dogs put in more effort in their costumes, we walked around the event hall again to see the other competitions going on. Momma is very interested in the Golden Retriever handler competition and she stood around to watch for quite a while. Dardy and me is getting impatient. LOL.

i felt ashamed after seeing how obedient the GRs in the competition are. Well, can't blame me for being naughty, im only 1 yr old ma.

Momma has totally no idea how the judge decides which GR wins and how the rules of the competition is. haha. After the GR handler competition ended, we explore the other areas of the event hall and Dardy brought me into the agility trial area to have some fun jumping and running around the obstacles. I miss my Obedience lessons suddenly.

After spending 1 hour plus there, we went back to the Companion Dogs competition area and Momma signed me up for the Doggie Dash Competition (big dogs category). Did not take any photos as both Momma and Dardy accompanied me in. The competition is simple, Dardy with accompany me at the starting point and Momma will be at the finishing line. All i have to do is to dash across the runway to Momma and compete with the other dogs participating to see who is faster. hehe.

I won 1st runner up for the competition. My prize is a trophy and a goodie bag sponsored by Pets Station. Even though im a sprinter, i lost to the other dog because midway thru my run, i turned back to try and bite the string that is attached to me collar. :S

There's only 2 big dogs participating though, me and the other one, so in fact, I CAME IN LAST! hehehehhehe. But i know my Parents are still very proud of me!

We left for home around 2 plus, im dead tired on the way back. Of cos i will be, i play, i sniff, i run.
Felt so contented as Momma got me many new toys and i sniffed at least 50 butts.

Back home, Momma packed the stuffs we got from the event. There's so many goodies and treats!

The goodies bag i got for subscribing to 2 years of ClubPets Magazine. There's Orijen Treats and kibbles, an IQ toy, a toy, and some small packs of more treats

The goodies inside my prize. a bag of treats, shampoo samples and a bottle of air purifier.

Ok, this is the first trophy i won. i am only 1 year old and i already have my own trophy.
Even though there are sure younger pups that won trophies too, but im super proud of myself.
My Parents are extremely proud of me too!

Crossing my fingers and hope i can win more trophies in future.

The Lioness with a mane

Hello peeps..

Its been a week since my last post. Had been really busy this whole week as i had to think of some other things to do other than sleeping and playing.

Life is bored being me.... all day, all i do is sleep, wait for my parents to come home from work to play with me,bring me for my walk, have my meals at the same time everyday. Awww, maybe many people yearn to be me, but i would rather have more fun in my life. The humans call it adding spice to their life yeah?

And so the other day, i decided to add some spice to my life. But to my dismay, my Momma refused to help me.

So as all of you may see. My Momma is one bad woman. She simply ignores my desire to add spice to my life...! Booooo!

Whatever. Duh.

Despite me being very angry for around 3593 seconds, i forgave her the moment she came back from work.

When Momma walked through the door, she told me that she signed me up for a costume competition on 17 Aug. Im gng dressed as a lion!!! LIONESS WITH A MANE to be exact.... she even gotten my costume gear ready...

Heh, dont i just look great in my costume? Cant wait for the competition. Hope i bring home a trophy or two.
